Listening Blog #7

 For this week's blog post, I listened to "Somebody To Love" by Jefferson Airplane. I clicked on the song not thinking I would recognize it, just thinking I would be listening to a new song. It sounded very familiar right off the bat, although I was not sure exactly where I had heard it. After having listened to it a few times now, I realize that a remixed version of this song is a popular sound on TikTok. It's interesting hearing the original for the first time after having only listened to a remixed version before. I enjoy the song, although it feels a bit off without the added musical elements that are in the remixed version. It almost feels like it is missing something. I wonder how my opinion on the song would change if I listened to the original before ever hearing a remixed version. Overall it is a good song, although not something I would listen to regularly. I can certainly see why it was so popular in its time. It has a catchy beat and a steady rhythm that just makes you wanty to move along to the beat.  I would recommend giving it a listen for any of those who haven't heard it already.
