Listening Blog #8
For this week's listwening blog, i cxhose to listen to Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival. I had heard thiss ong prior to listening to it in class, but only a couple of times. It was just enough to slightly recognize the song. I think my dad might have played it a few times when I was a kid so it kind of gives me a bit of a nostalgic feeling. I added it to my Spotify library and I have been listening to it regularly over the past couple of days and I just love the happy upbeat tune it has. I've lisened to the lyrics a few times and paid attention to them, but I still am not sure exactly what they message of the song is. The singer sings about how he "sees the bad moon rising" and sees trouble on the way. He goes on to say he sees various natural disasters such as hurricanes and lightning coming. It might be a metaphor to an unpromising future. Although I don't understand the message or story behind the song, I do like the tune and beat of the song and I enjoy listening to it.
I love that song, what a great choice! I think that is great you point out that it may be a metaphor, sometimes lyrics are not clear and we can kinda take it as we feel. I really love the beat to this song too, overall such a happy and great song!
ReplyDeletethis song Is great! Your thoughts on this song are great too!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed listening to this song in class, and I enjoyed listening to it just as much again to respond to your post! I agree with you that this song is recognizable, and like you, I also had a hard time placing exactly what it was. I also think that the song is about the future, like the singer senses some kind of bad omen. Overall I think it's just a really good song and agree with you that's enjoyable to listen to.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't ever heard this song until reading you blog. I love it! I have a playlist of feel good happy vibe older music that this fits perfect so I added it to that! I wish I could be more help as far as the message goes. I wasn't able to figure the message out either, I'll have to do some digging. Thanks for choosing this song so I could discover how much I like it. Great Work!
