Listening Blog #9

For this week's listening blog post, I decided to listen to Psycho Killer by Talking Heads. At first I didn't really like the songs, but as I listened to it more it started to grow on me. There's something about the singer's voice and the way he matches the instrumental rhythm that just pulls the listener in. The tune of the song is super catchy and it has a steady beat in 4/4 time that has you just tapping your foot along for just about the whole song. I can definitely see why this song got as popular as it did. This is one of the few songs we've gone over in class that I liked enough to add into my spotify library. I like how it has all of the fundamentals of rock n roll but it isn't quite as in your face as a lot of rock n roll music. It's the type of rock that you can put on and just chill out. I really like the fast guitar strumming at the end of the song. It kind of breaks up the rhythm that had been set the whole song prior to the sort of guitar solo. It certainly adds a nice touch. I like it, Picasso.

  1. “Psycho Killer” has always been one of my favorite songs. I remember when I was little, it was one of the songs I liked to sing when playing Rock Band. I also agree with you, in that this is a very catchy song and it also makes me tap my foot along, too.
